Evaluating the APAS Independence System for Automated Microbial Detection in Environmental Monitoring
Automated microbial detection systems are transforming pharmaceutical manufacturing by improving efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. This poster presents the evaluation of the APAS® Independence System for environmental monitoring (EM) applications at Bristol Myers Squibb. The system performs automated colony counting on 55 mm and 90 mm plates following offline incubation under routine EM conditions. APAS results were compared to traditional manual counts for compendial strains and environmental samples over multiple weeks.
